I’m a Mum

Jack of all trades, Master of love

I don’t think anything can really prepare you for being a mum. I’ve watched my sister, sisters-in-law, cousins and friends doing the Mum role and am in awe at how well they do the job! I thought it was going to be a bit easier and not as tiring as it is! They clearly hide their bags better than I do! I do my best at rocking the Mum look the best I can though!

Don’t get me wrong, I love being a mum! I really enjoy it. There are so many high points……just so many tiring points too!

In a typical day I will be a chef, a baker, a hair stylist (though, not a great one!), a taxi driver, a teacher, a clown, a climbing frame, a maid, an ear to listen, a nurse (with 4 adventurous kids it’s not often there’s a day without a bump or scrape!), a cleaner and a secretary. Occasionally I do a bit of events organising too. I’m sure I’ve missed some roles out, I’m very forgetful! That’s what lack of sleep and low iron levels do to you!

I’m not claiming that I’m a master of all these trades/roles. I do my best at them…..and some days my best isn’t as good as other days, but I do my best at that time! What I will claim to be a master of though, is loving my kids. It doesn’t matter what they do, how big their tantrum is, etc. I love them through it all! I may not like their behaviour at times, but I love them at all times. I am a master of love!

  1. Oh goodness I agree that being a mum is amazing, yep of course but blimey it’s full of a whole load of other stuff too that is massive! Very tiring and emotionally draining. It’s one of the reasons I love my blog, it’s an outlet to be able to let loose and sometimes say all the stuff I think I shouldn’t;)
Thanks so much for sharing your posts with my annual #mainylovessummer linky
