Freckled Face Friday: How To Make A Peg Plane

How to make a peg plane. 4 Freckled Faces

Hi everyone, it’s Freckled Face number 1. The other day I had an idea of making an aeroplane from one of mum’s wooden pegs. I had a lot of fun doing it and I was really happy with how it looked.

You will need:

A wooden peg

Two lolly pop sticks

Hot glue gun or wood glue

Something to colour with – I used felt tip pens

Pencil

First

Colour in the lolly pop sticks and the peg with the design you want to do. You can turn your hot glue gun on now too, so it can heat up ready for you to use it.

Second

When you are happy with the design you need to figure out where abouts you want to glue your lolly pop sticks on. I glued one at the bottom and one at the top, both parallel to eachother. I put mine just in front of the spring it, but you might want them closer to the front. It’s up to you! When you have decided where you want to glue the lolly pop sticks, you need to put a little mark there with your pencil. Don’t make it too big or dark.

Thirdly

Put a little bit of glue, whichever glue you decided to use, on one of the pencil mark you made and the put the lolly pop stick on top and hold it down for a few seconds. You then need to turn the peg over and do the same with the other pencil mark and lolly pop stick.

Finally

Wait for the glue to dry and…..voila! You have a peg plane!

  1. How can something so simple be so effective! These are fantastic! I’ll take that idea to my after school club children when we are back up and running properly in the school, as they would love to have a go at making these. Thank you!
