Easy Christmas Makes

Christmas time can be a very busy time of year, but despite the busy, hustle and bustle of it all, we like to get creative. Here are some of the things we made this year, throughout the Christmas Season.

Chocolate and Peppermint Kisses

Christmas Chocolate and Peppermint Kisses

What’s Christmas without a bit of baking right?? Freckled Face number 2 made these, and she wanted to share the recipe! You can find it by clicking here.

She actually made these quite a few times, and I had to put a stop to it ha ha. For the sake of my hips and teeth! I have a sweet tooth, and very low self control when it comes to food – not a good combination! Am I alone in this??

Pallet Christmas Tree

The man of the house got creative one day and surprised us with this fantastic tree, made from a pallet! With a bit of measuring, a saw and big strong muscles, you too could turn your pallet into this! He actually ended up making 2 more of these afterwards, for some friends!

Santa Jar

So incredibly easy to make! We put our photo props in here, or candy canes…..just avoid anything that might get it really dirty!

All you need for this is a clean (and empty) jar, hot glue gun, red wool, white wool and 2 or 3 black buttons (depending on the size of your jar). I did little bits of glue on the back as I went along, but you could put as much glue as you want to, to secure it better. Make sure the whole glass is covered. Hot glue the buttons on. Job done, tick!

Mini Christmas Pizzas

cutting the shapes out of the puff pastry

These were such an easy, quick and fun thing to put in the kids lunch boxes. They really liked them and it made their lunches a little more special. All you need is puff pastry, tomato puree, cheese and Christmas cookie cutters. When you cut the shapes out, you’ll need to score (with a sharp knife) a little in from the edge, all the way around. Then spread the tomato puree on and sprinkle some cheese on. They only take 10 – 15 minutes to cook, depending on how thick the pastry is.

What kind of things do you like to make at Christmas time?
