Freckled Face number 3 is learning about Space at school at the moment. She wanted to make something at home to take in to school. So we decided to do something to do with the solar system.
Here’s what we came up with….
WHAT WE USED
- 2 sheets of black A4 card
- Glue
- Glitter (silver)
- Tape
- Scissors
- Colour in solar system print out
- Astronaut print out
- Colouring pens
- A photo of your child (optional and make sure the head is the right size to stick in the astronaut’s helmet)
WHAT WE DID
We turned one of the sheets of card landscape and cut it in half. We stuck one on either end of the whole sheet of the card using tape, so that it can open and close like a book.
We then glued one side of the cards and sprinkled a little glitter on them (that was my instruction anyway!! Haha she may have sprinkled a fair bit more than a little!!)
She then coloured in the planet’s and I cut them out.
She cut out the astronaut while I cut the head from the photo of her.
She stuck the astronaut on one side and then the sun and the planets on in order.
She finished it off by putting a title on the front on the cards that open and close.
She LOVED every second of this! Her excitement and smile made all the glitter everywhere (literally all over the house now!!) worth while!
Thanks for reading!
Awesome!! So cute! I bet my son would love to do this!
